 Jabiru - Jabiru mycteria

Jabiru, Great Egrets, a woodstork and cows

The Jaribu is a large stork. Acc to the book it is132 cm in hight. The Great Egret comes to 99 cm in height. That is why the white egrets are the Great ones and not Cattle egrets as I thought at first.

  1. Ja det är en praktfågel , med ett unikt utseende med det svarta huvudet och den röda teckningen på halsen. Jösses!

  3. Very interesting bird. The Black-necked Stork out here in Australia used to be called a Jabiru also but it is quite different from the ones in your photos. Great photos.

  10. This has got to be one of the great bird blogs going. These tropical birds like the Jabiru are beyond imagination. The last shot of the road ties this brilliant post up and puts it all into perspective. It had to be great standing there and seeing these scenes with your own eyes. Good for you for giving yourself this tremendous experience in Costa Rica. Thank you again for sharing these amazing sights!
    Cheers!

I love comments so please write something. I usually responds to everyone on their own blogs. But nowadays I often find it impossible to comment on many blogs or on Google+. Often the word verifications is unreadable. And after three times I give up. Other times the systems seems to think I am a spammer. Lots of bloggers loose comments that way. :( So, if you don´t see me comment on your blog that is the reason.
